Relaxing at the Red sea. The water is amazing! So many different shades of blue - the turquoise blue where the water meets the land, the deep sea blue farther out and the light blue of the cloudless sky. I am lying on the beach looking across the sea at the low and barren mountains of Saudi Arabia. I can hear the call to prayer from a nearby mosque. Behind me are the jagged brown mountains of the Sinai peninsula, among them Mt. Sinai and St. Catherines Monastery. I would love to go hiking up there but I am really running out of time - flying back to the States in 5 days! We are thinking of going on to Cairo but I think it might be too rushed to try to make it there.
